New Beginnings
In der Installation thematisiert Nhung die Spannung zwischen der Sehnsucht nach Việt Nam und den Belastungen, die ihre Eltern auf sich nehmen mussten, um nach Deutschland zu migrieren. Dafür verwendet sie Gegenstände, die an das vertraute Wohnzimmer erinnert und interpretiert sie neu. Der Mondkalender im Jahr der Schlange steht dafür, dass es möglich ist, diese Lasten zu überwinden und weiter nach vorn zu blicken. Die Installation zeigt somit den Prozess, mit der Schwere im Herzen umzugehen und sie Teil der eigenen Identität werden zu lassen.

Nhung's installation deals with the conflict between longing for Vietnam and the difficulties her parents faced when they migrate to Germany. She uses objects that remind her of the familiar living room and reinterpretate them from a new perspective. At the heart of the work lies the lunar calendar, which symbolizes that it's possible to overcome these harships in life and still move forward with it. The work shows the process of learning to live with this emotional weight and making it a part of who you are.

Tác phẩm sắp đặt của Nhung đề cập đến sự giằng xé giữa nỗi nhớ quê hương Việt Nam và những gian khó mà cha mẹ cô phải đối mặt khi di cư sang Đức. Cô sử dụng những đồ vật cũ trong phòng khách và diễn giải chúng từ một góc nhìn mới. Trái tim của tác phẩm là một chiếc lịch âm, biểu tượng cho khả năng vượt qua những khó khăn trong cuộc sống và tiếp tục tiến về phía trước cùng với nó. Tác phẩm cho thấy quá trình học cách sống chung với sức nặng tình cảm này và biến nó trở thành một phần con người ta.

Nhung Lê Huyền hat einen Hintergrund in Publizistik und Kommunikationswissenschaft. Nhung organisiert politische Bildungsangebote für Kinder und Jugendliche, ist politisch aktiv und arbeitet im Bereich Community Management. Sie nutzt Kunst als Mittel zur Reflexion politischer Machtverhältnisse und strukturellen Rassismus. Ihre kuratorische Praxis ist von einem tiefen Bedürfnis nach Gerechtigkeit möchte sie die persönlichen Fragmente ihrer Kindheit wiederbeleben und nach außen tragen.

Nhung Lê Huyền has a background in Journalism and Communication Studies. She organizes political educational programs for children and youth, is politically active, and works in community management.
She uses art as a means to reflect on political power relations and structural racism. Her curatorial practice stems from a deep need for justice, aiming to revive and share the personal fragments of her childhood.
